Insuring Photography & Production Companies since 1986
The photography industry has changed dramatically since the 1980s when we started our business. The insurance industry has also changed, with almost endless choice in the market. As a boutique insurance company, how do we compete? Our customers come first. In 1986, Tom Carson formed the business with his friend John Williamson, keen to start their own business and provide a more personal experience. Tom and John met while working in the city with Lloyds Brokers and knew that they could create a business where their customers came first.
We provide support when you need it. We’re passionate about photography, film and illustration and supporting people working in the creative industries. We also understand business, and being prepared for the unpredictable.
We work hard for our customers and make insurance a positive experience — taking the worry out of getting the right deal to making a claim. We handle everything for you, providing bespoke and competitive insurance packages to managing the entire claim process, making sure claims are paid quickly without any stress.
The heart of the business hasn’t changed. We remain a small but powerful team. While John has retired, Tom has been joined by a new team. A few years ago, Matthew Whinney, a specialist media and technology insurance broker, became a director at Williamson Carson, helping Tom continue his vision. Together, with the team, Matthew and Tom are continuing to grow Williamson Carson, committed to providing security and a personal approach when you need it most.
